Behind the name…
Ember’s Echo holds a deep meaning and has become an intricate part in this new life journey. Sequoia Ember was our second daughter and I owe the world to her in so many ways. She was born with a fatal genetic disease called Niemann Pick Type C. Her progressive stage only gave her seven weeks with us, all spent inside the hospital walls. We gave her the warmth of the love we held in our hearts as we helplessly watched her little life fade away. In her fleeting moments here on earth, she taught me more about myself than I could have ever imagined possible. It wasn’t easy, it was the worst days of my life, but I feel so lucky to have held her for that time and learned so much from that love.
Everything changed after she died. As the time went on I began to find little parts of myself start to bloom that had been hidden away. My need and desire to create took over. I surrounded myself in nature, brought in plants and curated a garden that I could nurture and care for, just as I would my beautiful baby. The Echo of her life pushed me onto a path of new beginnings and gave me the courage to focus on passions that bring me pure joy. She became the motivation behind my crafts and the inspiration reminding me to listen to my heart. I live life with the memory of her close within my intentions. Now, I strive to provide this guiding light to my other daughter, Freya, as she grows into her own beautiful spirit in this life.
